This Is A Fact..

Results of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999–2000 indicate that an estimated 64 percent of U.S. adults are either overweight or obese, defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or more.

Are You Aware?

Fat Itself Causes Disease A rather misguided AP story on how fat itself - the tissue - causes disease might be interesting if it wasn't loaded with things that have been disproven. My favorite was this: The [American Cancer Society] estimates that staying trim could eliminate 90,000 U.S. cancer deaths a year. Among the varieties most clearly linked to weight are cancer of the breast, uterus, colon, kidney, esophagus, pancreas and gallbladder.

Why To Loss Weight?

A Shorter Life

  • Overweight non- smokers lose 3 yrs.
  • Obese non-smokers lose 7 yrs..
  • Obese smokers lose 13.5 yrs..
  • Smaller PayChecks

  • Obese women earn 2-6% less..
  • Obese men earn 7-3% less..
  • What BMI Level Riskly

According to the NIH Clinical Guidelines on the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults, all adults (aged 18 years or older) who have a BMI of 25 or more are considered at risk for premature death and disability as a consequence of overweight and obesity. These health risks increase even more as the severity of an individual's obesity increases.
